The GRAS lamp was designed in 1921 by the Frenchman, Bernard-Albin Gras . The series was originally intended for use in offices and industrial environments. The lamp's hand-crafted, pure, graceful lines and practical design was quickly adapted and championed by many of the stalwarts of the modern design movement including, Le Corbusier, Robert Mallet-Stevens, Georges Braque, Emile Jacques Ruhlmann, and Eileen Gray.
